THE LINEA EDIT · MEDICAL WEIGHT LOSS

Let’s talk about medical weight loss

More than a number.

Your first conversation is an opportunity to explain what you have tried, what has been difficult, and what you would like support with. Linea’s program begins with an individual evaluation; medical history, body measurements, and laboratory testing may be part of that assessment.

Nutrition, activity, sleep, and follow-up belong in a long-term plan. Prescription medication may be appropriate for some patients, based on health history and clinical criteria. Medication complements lifestyle care and requires monitoring. [1]

What the first visit covers

A useful weight-care conversation includes the parts of your routine that are easiest to overlook: work hours, sleep, access to meals, injuries, caregiving, and the approaches you have already tried. Bring recent laboratory results if available, but do not arrange testing solely because of this page. Tatiana will explain which information is relevant to your assessment.

Discuss goals beyond a target weight. Improving day-to-day function or addressing a weight-related health concern may matter as much as a change on the scale. The starting plan should be clear enough that you know what to work on between visits.

Medication, monitoring, and maintenance

Medication is one possible part of medical weight care, not an automatic outcome of booking. If it is recommended, ask for the exact medicine, expected benefits, common and serious side effects, and how follow-up will work. Prescription choices depend on eligibility and medical history. [1]

At follow-up, explain what is working and what is difficult, including changes in appetite, symptoms, access, or cost. Reaching a goal does not end the conversation: nutrition, activity, and maintenance need a plan too. Do not adjust or stop medication without instructions from your clinician.

Assessment and treatment options at Linea

Linea’s program includes a discussion of medical history, baseline measurements, eating patterns, activity, and follow-up. Body-composition assessment with the BioMetrix scanner and appropriate laboratory testing can be part of the evaluation. Bring recent bloodwork if you have it; the practice can explain whether a lab order is needed.

Medication options discussed at Linea have included semaglutide, phentermine/topiramate, and naltrexone/bupropion. These are not interchangeable, and an appointment does not guarantee a prescription. Confirm the exact product, current availability, eligibility, and monitoring plan with Tatiana. [1]

Recovery and follow-up

What to expect.
What to ask.

Know what to expect before you book.

Timing & follow-up

Progress is individual. Agree on realistic goals and a follow-up schedule, then assess health measures and how the plan fits your life. Medication decisions include whether the benefit continues to justify treatment. [1]

Suitability & safety

Weight-management medications have product-specific risks and interactions and are not appropriate for everyone. Discuss pregnancy plans, medical and family history, other medicines, and the full prescribing information. Never start or change a prescription based on website information. [1]

Before you decide

Questions
we hear often.

Will I automatically receive medication?

No. Your evaluation determines whether a prescription is appropriate. The consultation also addresses nutrition, activity, and other care options.

What should I bring?

Bring a medication and supplement list, relevant recent lab results, your health history, and questions about your goals or previous experiences.

How much weight will I lose?

There is no guaranteed result. Ask what is realistic for the proposed plan and which measures will be used to assess progress.

What does the program cost?

Ask for the visit, testing, medication, and follow-up costs separately so you understand the complete proposal. Insurance coverage and pharmacy costs can differ.

What happens after I reach a goal?

Maintenance deserves its own plan. Discuss follow-up, ongoing habits, and any medication decisions with your clinician.

Do I need laboratory testing before booking?

Bring recent results if you have them. The consultation determines whether additional testing is appropriate; there is no universal panel that every patient needs to order in advance.
